Lesson No 1

Well i have booked a driving lesson for Natalie for tomorrow night at 8.45.
Not exactly the best weather to have your first driving lesson,lots of the side roads are really icy,suppose he will take her somewhere clear.
Pity the poor guy though!

Have nearly went on my earse a few times today and Jades school was a nightmare,i could just see myself decking it and all the kids laughing at me,still it has to be like this for a few days so there is still time

Jade decked it on our drive today after school and hurt her wrist but she was ok,she was trying to skate and after that happened she said "I think i will just walk on it now mummy"

Because so many of our shcools have kids arrive by school bus, we tend to have a lot of "snow days," where the radio and tele air all the school closings--some days just a few in the hill towns, others--like when there's been an ice storm or a blizzard, all the schools are closed...except the colleges...takes a massive blizzard to close the colleges.

Our playground was like a skating rink today till the caretaker got his rear in action and gritted it!

  Jade said they were'nt allowed out to play today,probably incase of falls n broken bones etc,don't know why the caretaker has'nt gritted it,he is usually spot on with things like that? xx

    When I was a kid they only gritted the bits near the entrances, the rest of the playground was one giant slide. Us kids loved it!

No ice here so far, it is cold but no frost yet. It is generally milder round here than your neck of the woods. We usually get our bad weather with black ice on the roads between boxing day and New Year or the last week of January to the second week of Feb, but then we had snow around Easter last year I recall.

  My street is a bit iced up,but the main roads are fine.
  Uaually the gritter comes down to spread but no sign yet? Last year they came all the time and we did'nt even have as much ice,typical council workers.
  We used to have one of those rock salt bins at the top of the street because the street it is on a bit of a slope but it has disappeared? I went to two local shops to buy ordinary salt last night and they had none. xx

    I spoke to soon I soon discovered it was quite frosty on the way down the hill, our front garden was just quite sheltered so I hadn't noticed.

      I hate walking on slippy pavements,if i was a wee bit older i might have gotten away with putting socks over my shoes xx
