Mimickry can be BAD!

I was coming out of Asda tonight and was walking to the car.

I past a young woman/girl and her wee girl standing waiting on a taxi and as i was getting near them the wee girl (who was about 4) suddenly went down on her hunckers (still had her feet on the groung but tucked her bum behind them) and picked up a LIT! fag end and put it to her mouth!!! Luckily not the lit end.

I just went "OH! NO, Don't do that honey!" Instinctivley

Her mum said "Don't do that Charmayne or Chantelle or whatever her name was!"

I was thinking to myself, wonder if that was the mothers fag,probably was cause how else would that wee girl know what to do with it.

So it just shows you how kids mimick things their parents do.

That's me notched up another black mark against SMOKING! xx

On cold mornings, we kids had to wait for the school bus at a hilltop bus stop next to a motorway. We used to pick up discarded cigarrette ends and pretend we were smoking--the white clouds from out breath was "smoke" from the discarded fags. The things kids will do!

Yeah I have seen this kind of thing too.

Disturbing isn't it?

Makes you think.

Trouble is some Mums seem to find it amusing.

Reminds me of when we were kids and you could buy sweets that were made to look like cigarettes. Haven't seen them around these days though.

That's awful ! But it does show you how kid's copy adult's. Just like the 'Anti Smoking' advert's tell us ! x

A relative who smokes invited her friend and 10 year boy, who has Asperger's syndrome round for a cuppa. There was an unopened packet of cigarettes on the table. While the two adults were chatting the boy read the outside of the packet (which said 'Cigarettes can kill'). He then ran off to the back of the house with the packet. When they went after him he had opened it, taken all the cigarettes out, broken them into pieces and put them in the bin. We think he was trying to save her from dying, and she's now trying to kick the habit too.
